Favorite Beauty Products

I love when other people share their favorite tried and true beauty products. So, I thought I would share with you mine. Here are a few I can't live without.

Bare Minerals Make-up in Medium

I used to be more of a liquid foundation kind of girl. But, this stuff really works. It makes make skin look so smooth and perfect. And I get way fewer breakouts.

Cargo Blush in Prague

I finally found the perfect dusty rose blush! It's a great mix of pinky bronzy tone.

Bobbi Brown Gel Eye-liner

I am so clumzy with liquid eye-liner. But, this stuff is just too easy! You can't mess it up. And it stays put all day!

Jo Malone Fragrance in Lotus Blossom & Water Lily

I have an uncle that works for Jo Malone and he got me this for Christmas. I was instantly in love! So sublte and clean. I am always getting compliments on it.

Bobbi Brown Extra Balm Rinse

This was really weird to me at first. A friend of mine used it and I couldn't get past the bright yellow color (not normal for a facewash). But the moment I used it my skin felt so hydrated and soft. And it smells so citrusy and wonderful!

Victoria's Secret Pink Lotion in Fresh & Clean

Okay I know this is probably made for teen-agers. But I love the smell! The bottle is pretty cute too.

OPI Nail Polish in "You don't know Jacques"

This is the perfect mix of taupe, gray, and brown. So flattering on all skin tones.

And last but most certainly not least... Vaseline.

I use this stuff religiously... for everything! Eye Make-up remover, for my lips, cracked heels, etc. I keep a jar by my bed at night in case my lips get chapped in my sleep : )

The Selby

The Selby is an incredible website. I can’t believe I have looked at it before. I have been missing out! The website was created by Todd Selby a fashion and interiors photographer and an illustrator. He takes pictures of creative peoples homes, such as fashion designers, models, writers, etc. I love looking at these very eclectic spaces. There is something so beautiful about books stacked up haphazardly to me, and piles of shoes and necklaces too. I think you will find an amazing amount of inspiration in his photography. Baby James' Room

So, me and two of my best friends (also designers) and my best friend Ashley's wonderful and handy husband made a trip to Texarkana on Saturday to help another one of my best friends decorate her baby boys room. It really was like one of those HGTV shows where you have one day and a very limited budget. Stephanie already had the room painted a light oceany blue when we got there. We knocked out the rest!

I know this is supposed to be a fashion blog, but I just had to share!

Here is the before. Her mother-in-law had already purchased her a baby bed. We were all skeptical of the oak. But it turned out to be perfect!

I orginally asked Steph if we could do one whole wall in chalk board paint. She wasn't too thrilled with the idea and Ryan (Ashley's husband) said it was a tedious task of layers and layers of the chalk board paint and each layer had to "cure". Apparently not a easy task. So, I settled on a smaller chalkboard to hang in the room. At first my idea was to find an ornate frame and paint it glossy white and then painting a piece of MDF with the chalkboard paint. Again, making more trouble for myself. We ended up finding a ready made chalk board at Hobby Lobby and added popsicle sticks to the frame for a sort of modified star-burst effect.

There's me. It turned out to be a little more tedious than I thought! This is the final pattern after I had pull them off and started again 5 times! I suppose looking back I should have layed them out first THEN glued and stapled!

Final Product! You really could not tell it was popsicle sticks!

Brittany was in charge of the mommy and daddy silhouettes. They turned out better than I could ever imagined!

We originally planned on just doing a horizontal striped wall. But, that would have been too easy! I found an idea on how to do a Chevron wall stripe so we decided on that. Here is Ryan doing the first of many trial tapings...

After about 3 tries we decided to actually follow the blog directions and who knew that was the best way! I guess you should just listen to people that have done these things before. They probably went through the same process trying to find an "easier way". Well there is no easy way. Lots of measuring and numbers. I let Ryan do most of that!

Starting to come together. This was at about 12 a.m. that the painting finally started.

Voila! Totally worth it! I don't know if Ryan would agree but, It really made the room.

Globe mobile! I am obsessed with globes!

Ashley had already made these inital plaques. They were precious. She also found door knobs to hang the ribbon on. Such a great idea. They looked so manly and industrial : )

Final Silhouettes with mommy and daddy plaques. Probably my most favorite thing in the room.

I didn't get a good picture of the drapes Ashley made but, we found the most perfect chevron pattern at a tiny little quilting shop in Texarkana. They really pulled the room together and she did such a great job on the sewing at 2 in the morning!!

I'm in love with this room!

Paris Fashion Week

Chloe
These clothes are so beautiful! Perfect camel trousers and coats. Exactly what I wish my work wardrobe could be.


Valentino
Ruffles and butterfly appliques. I love the leather skirt.


YSL
Round sunglasses, mary-janes, and mohawk electric blue heels.


Chanel
Abominable snowmen suits and ice-block clutches. Karl apparently had a glacier from imported form Scandinavia! The models stomped through melted ice-berg in their fur boots on the runway. I hope it didn't ruin any of the shoes or clothes...


Balenciaga
Icy blue tones. The clothes and shoes remind me of legos.


Giambattista Valli
I love that his clothes are so feminine. That cape/coat is gorgeous! That dress might swallow anyone else who is not a model, but it is still amazing.


Balmain
Same ole stuff. This looks like his last 3 collections. I guess he knows his client base and what they want and will keep buying.


Celine
I love the simplicity of Celine.


Louis Vuitton
Lady-like full skirts, heels with bows, pretty pony tails. So many collections lately seem to be inspired by Mad Men.


Rick Owens
His clothes are just beyond cool. His vision is on a whole other level than most designers.


Alexander McQueen
Last but most certainly not least. McQueen. I am so sad to see this collection. It is so beautiful. Its truely meant for a queen or royalty. I don't feel like any celebrity would be deserving of these clothes.
